Orchard Layout and Plans

Below you will find some of the drawings and pieces that I had put together to layout the orchard. My original plan called for 20 dwarf apple trees that would be located on the east side of the house. As you can see from the plan below there would be 2 rows with 10 trees per row. However maybe it was a lack of observation on my part but later when I went to plant some of these trees on the north end of the rows I notices that my homes septic field ended about 5 feet from where the trees where going to be planted. No good! I didn't want tree roots destroying my septic field so now I am stuck re planning a little and trying to revise my plans.

Plan 2.0

So after laying out the orchard the first time, I had to make some revisions because of the layout of the septic field in the backyard.  So here is currently what I Planned. Even this will not be a final because of the fact that Holstein apples the last 3-4 are too close to the septic field. The trees outlined in green have been planted. So what may end up happening is the rows will not be uniform in length, which is not a supper big deal but I think it will drive me nuts! Time will tell.
