Winter 2010-2011

Picture
A frosty cold morning In the Vineyard. 1/9/11

"SNOW STORM 2011"

Picture
Cotton after 'Winter storm 2011' this storm dumped about 14 inches of snow in our area and then left even taller drifts behind. 2/2/11
Picture
This is what the road to our vineyard looked like after the big storm hit. Lucky I have 4 wheel drive....2/2/11
Picture
I found it funny that the potato farmer down the road ended up plowing our road after the storm......long before the county road trucks got to us.
Picture
As night fell after the 'Big Storm' the vineyard looked pretty much buried with snow. The track you see is from Cotton, she wandered out during a potty break. 2/2/2011
Picture
Cotton and Hershey play during a 50 degree day in February.... It was really windy this day. With the soft ground and the strong winds many of the grow tubes toppled. 2/17/11

Here is a great example of a living vine with a winter damaged bud. the bud has exploded due to a severe Temperature but the cane is still living. Note the redish brown color. The good news is there is another bud under it that is alive and well.
Picture
Here is a dead vine. Note the lower end is living it has a redish brown color. however the top is Grey and that means that it did not take the winter.
